Grade 11 to College: 4 Things You Must Do in Order

If your child is in Grade 11, college planning needs to happen in the right order. There are four important steps parents and students should complete before college applications are finished: Take the SAT or ACT this year and aim to finish testing by December. Build the college list next summer using your child’s academic results and test scores, not just university names. Complete the main application essay by mid September and start sending the first applications. Submit the remaining applications by December, then compare college offers, fees, and costs carefully when decisions arrive.
